Asst. Prof. Desislava Karaasenova, PhD, teaches English for specific purposes - Terminology of the EU Institutions, Business and Legal English. She worked as a translator at the Council of the European Union in Brussels (language combination English / French). Her research interests include intercultural interaction, intercultural communicative competence, transnational academic mobility. She was involved in a number of research projects: Jean Monnet Network European Identity, Culture, Exchanges and Multilingualism (EUROMEC) (Erasmus+), Promoting intercultural competence in translators (Erasmus+), Overcoming European Divides (Allianz Cultural Foundation), Which Europe in a globalized world? (Allianz Cultural Foundation), How to strengthen democracy in Europe? (Allianz Cultural Foundation), Future 4EU (inter-university project), Europe begins at school (Sofia University).
