Assoc. Prof. Kaloyan Simeonov is Head of the Department of "European Studies", elected in 2015. He is a Master of European Studies from the College of Europe, Natolin (Poland) and Master of International Economic Relations from the University of National and World Economy (UNWE) in Sofia. He teaches the courses "Socio-economic development of Bulgaria after 1990", "Socio-economic development of the Member States after the Treaty of Rome", "Economic and Monetary Union", "Participation of Bulgaria in the process of decision-making in the EU" and others.
He worked at the Ministry of Finance, The Administration of the Council of Ministers and the Financial Supervision Commission in EU-related departments. He has also taught and lectured at the UNWE, New Bulgarian University, the Centre for European Programmes at the American University, the European Institute of Public Administration, Public Administration Institute - Sofia, the Diplomatic Institute at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others. Author of over 70 publications in Bulgarian and international periodicals, including the co-authored textbook "European Integration" and several monographs on European topics. He is a member of Team Europe. He has participated in projects and missions in Kosovo, Northern Cyprus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Ukraine, Turkey, Azerbaijan and others.
